My First Impressions Of Bilou*

If you haven't seen these fun packaged goodnesses, or read about them on another blog, where have you been?
I feel like bilou has taken over the blogosphere, but that's for good reason. I was sent a lovely pack to try out some of their products, no strings attached, but I loved them more than I ever thought I would, so it's my right as a blogger to share my opinions with you.
Let's talk a little about bilou before we begin - it's always nice to find out about the brand of the products you're using. bilou was started in 2014 by Youtuber Bibi, bibisbeautypalace, (another online content creator success story, wooo!), and her boyfriend Julian in Cologne, Germany. Inspired by her love of shower gels, creamy textures, and long-lasting fragrances bilou was born. All the products are suitable for vegans and are not tested on animals. Unopened products last for 3 years, opened last for 24 months. (For sure, this will not be a problem for you, once they're open, you will not be able to stop using them). The range is available at Superdrug for £3.99 each.
There are 3 products available; creamy shower foam, gentle cream foam, and 2 in 1 bodyspray. Scents include Cotton Candy, Pink Melon, plus the three I'm going to be talking about today.
CREAMY SHOWER FOAM in TASY DONUT
I think they should re-name this 'the creamiest shower foam you will ever use'. And I stand by that. One quick press and you are introduced to a huge creamy foam. Ever since shower foams became popular over the last few years, I have tried many, and unlike those, this remains in a thick foam, which is soft and silky on the skin, and lathers so well. I have been using this for weeks and the foam is still coming. Definitely some sort of magic in that bottle. The scent isn't just a standard donut, you can tell a lot of thought has gone into putting together this fragrance. It's not overly sweet, I would describe it more like warm, freshly made donuts, topped with a sweet icing. Is anyone else hungry right now, or is it just me? The scent sits nicely on your skin and fills your bathroom too. I wouldn't say I have overly sensitive skin, but I am prone to eczema, so I have to be careful with the products I use. This caused no reaction to my skin and just left me feeling super soft, and very clean. Ingredients include Europaea fruit oil, which is an olive oil, making it very nourishing for the skin.
CREAM FOAM in FIZZY BERRY
Now, I can be a lazy body-moisturiser. During the summer, the last thing I wanted to do was put anything else on my skin that wasn't ice cold so you wouldn't find me using any cream on my body. As we are in autumn now, I know it's important for me to start including a cream in my daily routine. This was the product I was most excited to try, and even made an appearance in my monthly favourites. Like I've mentioned, I have tried numerous shower foam products, but I was yet to try a cream foam. Not going to lie, I didn't know they existed. After trying the shower foam, I had very high hopes, and I was not disappointed. Again, one quick press and a huge soft creamy foam. Despite how creamy and thick it is, it sinks into my skin very easily and your skin is left nourished and smelling so sweet. The next morning my skin is still feeling all those benefits. The fizzy berry scent reminds me of fizzy raspberry sweets. Not overpoweringly sweet, but very reminiscent of summer fun as a child. Shea butter, almond oil, and avocado oil are some of the ingredients, which are the perfect combination for silky, smooth skin.
2 IN 1 BODY SPRAY in COCO COCKTAIL
I was a little apprehensive when I saw a coconut smelling fragrance. I can sometimes find body sprays to be very pungent with scent, which is great, but your scent shouldn't enter a room before you do. I really didn't want to be a walking nut, no matter how much I love eating coconuts. You may have noticed a running theme when it comes to scents throughout this post - just how well they've managed to capture each scent, so I really shouldn't have been concerned. As the fragrance is primarily a cocktail, it's a combination of coconuts and sweet vanilla - it's definitely not your typical coconut body spray. The scent isn't the only wonderful thing about this product. As a 2 in 1 body spray, yes it makes you smell wonderful, but it also helps to moisturise and smooth the tightness of dry skin. Not only that, it can be used as a deodorant too, and as the formula has no alcohol it's even better for your skin. The ingredients does contain aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder from the aloe plant which is antioxidising and soothing for the skin.
I am so in love with bilou. For £3.99 each, this is an absolute bargain for the quality of products. They are all so nourishing for the skin, and I can't believe how much thought has gone into the scent. I can't wait to try the other scents in the collection. They do have some other scents which sadly isn't available in the UK, such as Cherry Kisses, and Chocolate Cake, but I hope they bring them over here soon. These would make amazing gift ideas, (have I mentioned how much I love the design on the packaging), or used in your daily body care routine. Let me know in the comments below if you've tried any of the bilou range, and which is your favourite. If you haven't just yet, which are you most excited to try.
